Healing Inner Wounds
Later in Life
For decades, I lived a full life, unaware of the hidden effects of my past. Today, I advocate for inner healing by sharing my story to raise awareness and support women who are ready to begin and trust God with what still hurts.
It is never too late to break the silence within and begin healing.

What we carry matters.
You can build a good life and still have places within you that hurt. What we bury, brush off, or learn to live around can continue shaping how we think, feel, love, and even how our bodies respond. Often without us realizing it.
Some things become so familiar that we stop noticing them. We adapt. We keep going. We learn to live around what hurts.
Becoming aware can change what we see.
A woman with a story to share.
I'm a wife, mother, retired professional, and author. And for a long time, I lived a normal life while carrying pain from my past that I had learned to live with in silence, unaware of its effects. When circumstances stopped me in my tracks, I was forced to look inward. I began to understand how my unhealed wounds had affected me.
Seven years ago, I made a decision that would quietly change the course of my life.
It wasn't a decision to write a book or start a business. It was a decision to heal.
My Healing Journey
What began as a decision to heal became a seven-year journey far deeper than I could have imagined. As I looked inward and faced what I had carried in silence, healing my physical heart eventually led me to examine my whole life—spirit, soul, and body—with God at the center.
As I searched for answers about my heart health, I began uncovering a deeper story—the emotional wounds of my past that I had carried for decades had affected me in ways I had never fully understood. I began to understand the mind-body connection and how what we carry emotionally can affect our whole being.
Along the way, what I discovered changed how I understood my life, my health, and healing. Over time, those words became Crying Ink.

Never too late to heal.
I learned to break the silence within and address what the past left behind. One of the greatest lessons I learned about healing is that we have the power to choose—to step into our healing, grow more aware, trust God with what hurts, take real steps forward, and learn what it means to care for ourselves along the way.
You don't have to heal alone.
What I learned was so significant that my experience didn't end with writing a book. I became what I once needed: a guide and a source of support. This is why I created The Johnnie Woods Connection: a supportive space for women to belong, reflect, and connect.
Healing can feel overwhelming when you don't know where to turn for support. As you begin to understand yourself more deeply, also having people who understand the journey can be invaluable.
